...we were 1 day away from bringing our new baby home from the hospital;...we were wondering how to feed, hold, diaper, and swaddle a very fragile being. One year later, and we are pros! We've also realized how un-fragile a 1-year old can be. We made it through the first year, and wow, did it go by fast! Thursday was Cooper's birthday so we took him to Chick-Fil-A for lunch--his first meal of nuggets and fries. Then we went to Publix for his first (free) chocolate chip cookie. He loved it! We had a birthday cupcake for him to smash into that night and he had a blast. It was a test run for the big party.
Today was the big party. Well, it was really just family and one of Corey's really good friends. One of my neighbors decorated the cakes and they were the talk of the party. It was a great time, Cooper made a mess, there were no meltdowns, and everyone left stuffed to the gills. I love birthdays, and my little booger! Next up....my 30th birthday in 5 more days...
